Model the city in 3D. Accurate, interoperable, ready to use

3D database produced by photogrammetric restitution from aerial photographs, Vcity3D offers a digital territory model that is precise, enrichable, and interoperable across all information systems. Developed using our RCP Factory technology, co-developed with IGN's Matis laboratories, it integrates a digital terrain model at a metric steps, a true orthophotograph between 5 and 10 cm/px, and the complete 3D representation of buildings, roofs, and textured facades. Thanks to our internal ETL tools, we deliver this database in textured LOD 2.2 in multiple formats: GLB, 3D Tiles, CityJSON, or even SPLK, compatible with the ESRI suite. Beyond the city model, the same aerial photography allows for the production of other high-value data: Photomesh, solar registry, PCRS. In 2025, Vectuel carried out a major oblique aerial photography campaign in Île-de-France, one of the most ambitious produced to date in the region.

As close to the ground as possible, down to the pedestrian level.

Pedestrian enrichment allows you to scale down to the human level and contextualize a project with unequaled precision. It can be carried out in two ways: by field survey - our vehicles capture geolocated photos over large distances, allowing the modeling of sidewalks, roadways, road markings, vegetation, and street furniture - or by automatic enrichment via generative AI, which reconstructs facades, vegetation, and urban atmospheres from existing data. The result: an immersive rendering, true to reality, which allows an elected official or a resident to immediately project themselves into their neighborhood.

From plan to volume - modeling of projects and master plans.

Based on your architectural plans or BIM data, Vectuel integrates your projects directly into the existing city model. Ground plans, templates, volumes, facades: each project is precisely modeled in 3D and placed back into its real urban context. An approach that allows you to go from plan to volume in just a few days, in order to anticipate impacts, compare scenarios, and communicate with all project stakeholders.

Frequently Asked Questions

Vectuel produces and structures 3D urban data at all scales, from modeling entire cities in textured LOD (Level of Detail) 2.2 to detailed captures of existing buildings by drone. What sets this offer apart: the data is designed as databases that can be managed over time, built to directly feed scalable digital twins and to project the future state of a territory from both an aerial view and pedestrian immersion.

Vectuel's specialty is the production of textured LOD 2.2 3D cities from aerial photographs. These models are not simple static exports: they are structured like an administrable database, which makes it possible to update the digital twin over time and to accurately project the future state of an area — both in aerial and pedestrian views. Vectuel recently ran an oblique aerial campaign using a Vexcel Osprey 4.1 camera, notably producing more than 160,000 textured 3D buildings across the Versailles Grand Parc metropolitan area.

Beyond the aerial model, Vectuel offers ground-level enrichment to achieve a level of detail suitable for pedestrian urban visualization. This includes mapping photo reports onto facades for an accurate representation of existing structures, modeling 3D site plans and roadways while respecting the actual topography, as well as integrating elements of street furniture and vegetation. This level of enrichment is essential for local residents to recognize their environment in a project visualization.

Vectuel has won the Île-de-France Haute Définition AMI (Call for Expressions of Interest) by developing a technology to enrich LOD 2.2 model facades using generative artificial intelligence. The goal is to automatically achieve a level of detail sufficient for realistic pedestrian immersion, without the need for systematic field campaigns. This innovation positions Vectuel at the intersection of geospatial data production and AI applied to urban planning, with institutional support from the Île-de-France Region.

Vectuel offers two complementary approaches. For existing structures: drone and video capture combined with gaussian splatting makes it possible to recreate a building, an industrial site, or an indoor space with photographic accuracy and realism. For future projects: Vectuel creates 3D models based on DWG files, site plans, BIM models, or any technical document, producing a model that can be used in Urban Story, Urban Mappr, or delivered directly to the client.

Vectuel also produces technical geospatial data from aerial photography campaigns: the PCRS (Simplified Street Plan), 3D photomeshing for precise surface modeling, and solar cadastres for assessing photovoltaic potential at the scale of a municipality or conurbation. These deliverables are aimed at local authorities, developers, and network operators who require high-metric reference data.
